Michael Fried (geb. 1939), Professor am Humanities Center der John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, ist einer der führenden und – nicht nur in den USA – meistdiskutierten Kunst-, Literatur- und seit neuestem auch Photokritiker der Gegenwart.
